At an altitude of 850 m, in the heart of the Bavarian Forest, the towns of Pfronten and Steinach have got together to create a small ski resort on the slopes which overlook the towns.
The ski area offers 6 km of slopes and is divided into 2 sectors. A cable car takes you directly to an altitude of more than 1400 m, at the foot of the slopes to reach the plateau which overlooks Steinach. You can then descend the area's highest point at an altitude of 1680 m to where the ski lift leaves or go to the lower second sector which is more suitable for beginners and children.
