In the north east of Italy, there is a family ski resort called Moena-Val di Fiemme, at the heart of the Dolomites - a UNESCO natural world heritage site.
Set at 1184 m altitude, the skiable area comprises 38 km of ski slopes, including 27 km of blue runs, 7 km of red runs and 4 km of black runs. Snow cannons are installed across the whole ski area to ensure good snow cover. Snowboarders can enjoy the funpark with jumps, slides and waverides. The resort is also part of the Dolomiti Superski area, the largest ski area in the country which stretches from 1500 m to 3200 m altitude. It combines 450 ski lifts and 1200 km of slopes across 12 ski areas, all of which can be accessed with just one pass.
The resort offers a number of activities, such as sledging, snowshoeing and the swimming pool centre with sauna and whirlpools. In the evening, head to the local bars and restaurants to sample some local produce.
