Ski hire Val Cenis

The ski resort of Val Cenis is in the Haute Maurienne mountains and described as the skiing capital of the Haute Maurienne valley. The resort centre is split between two Savoyard villages, Lanslevillard and Lanslebourg, and from this traditional setting you can explore 125km of marked slopes going up to an altitude of 2,800m. With a 1,400m height difference between the bottom of the ski area and the top, the terrain available is incredibly diverse and supports every kind of snow sport. This diverse terrain also means there are snow sports for every level of enthusiast, from beginners up to experts. On the edge of the Vanoise National Park, you really should take the time to explore the natural environment around Val Cenis. The resort has many hiking and snowshoe trails, and there are organised tours you can take. Or you can try cross-country skiing across the 85km of routes in the area. For high-adrenaline trips you can experience Val Cenis from the air by paragliding, try winter canyoning, or ice climbing. And of course there are traditional modes of transport, like dog sled tours and tobogganing.Due to Val Cenis' position in the Haute Maurienne mountains, you can access more than a dozen small ski resorts across the area with a multi-day ticket. And you can even access the Three Valleys via one of the longest gondolas in the world. As well as snow sports there are also a lot of culturally rich activities in the Val Cenis area. You can take a tour of the local dairy co-operative to see how they make traditional cheeses, attend one of the theatre productions which are staged throughout the year, or visit one of the several museums. Whether learning about the Baroque history of the area or local artists, the museum exhibits make fun and educational excursions.Back in the villages of Lanslevillard and Lanslebourg you'll find a warm welcome awaits you. These charming traditional towns have great accommodation options and fantastic services. The nightlife is low key but there are lots of restaurants and bars where you can spend relaxing evenings.
